Sweet Seoul Music

This tuesday I’m flying to Seoul, South Korea and I’m very excited about this venture. I’ve never been to Asia. Heck I’ve only seen the pacific ocean once. Now I got to see it for an entire plan ride. On second thought that plane ride is going to be pretty rough. I did a transatlantic flight once before. That thing was seven hours of, “We’re still flying?” This upcoming flight is 6 hours to San Fran and then 10 FREAKING HOURS TO SOUTH KOREA. I’m sure the jet lag will be simply delightful. But, I’ll be there for two weeks so it’ll totally be worth it. I love traveling and exploring new parts of the world. This is certainly going to be a major experience feather in my life hat. Okay, terrible metaphor but you get what I mean.

Also, I’ve got two bonus shows at the wonderful Moonlight Players in Clermont, Florida coming up on the 29th and the 6th. Just ordered the flyers for it. Looking forward to working a little closer to home by then. Onward and Upward!

Performances, Adventures, and Burglaries

Man oh man has this been a crazy year. I got broken into twice in the same week! They stole  A LOT of stuff. Two guitars, Digital Piano, Mac Book Pro; thousands of dollars in stuff I’ve earned over years. Believe me, I was and still am super pissed about it. But I don’t have the opportunity to cry over spilled milk, or in this case felonies. So I’m happy to announce 6 Guitars is coming back to Orlando for one night only. Here is the banner for it! Feel free to copy and paste.

Not done yet. My brother, Ross Padgett, joined me for my fringe tour last year. He is a talented young stand up comic and he and I are joining our talents together for an one hour long two man comedy show. Here’s that banner too

Also, I had a blast at the Gatlinburg Improv Festival. Thanks to James and Krisha Newport for putting together a really great first year fest.

From Ocean Springs to Gatlinburg

Just finished up with a gig a few weeks ago at The Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Center of the Arts. This wonderful theatre space is located right on the gulf at Ocean Springs, MS. I must say the crowd was thoroughly delightful to perform for and the theatre went out of their way to be incredibly hospitable with every aspect of my visit. Here is a picture of the poster they designed for me.

All in all it was a delightful weekend. Now, I’m off to the Gatlinburg Improv Festival in just two weeks. It’ll be nice to catch up with an old friend, James Newport, once I’m there.

Off Broadway, now open

So the first weekend is down. After some flyering in Times Square we had houses that loved the show. It’s funny, every time I’m in a new city I always get a bit nervous. I think, “Gosh, maybe these people won’t like it like everyone else.” But every time I’m proven wrong. The actual space is literally a block from times square. We can see the bright lights and hear the street sounds from the theater when it’s totally silent. Quite an exhilarating experience for sure. Another great experience is to have native New Yorkers who have seen some of the best performers on Broadway tell me how talented I am. I’m still not good at taking compliments but this show has certainly made me get better at it. Finally, some people come to the big city and change but as you can see by the photo below, I’m still the same classy metropolitan.

New York, New York

We have arrived in the Big Apple and I’m already loving my time here. We are staying in a nice economical space in Gramercy Park. Wonderful location for sure. Tomorrow we are going to walk the space and get a feel for it. We have walked by it already and being two blocks from times square is simply awesome. I’m really excited to see how this month goes, especially since this is the longest run I’ve done like this. Tonight I performed at an open mic at the new world stages cabaret lounge people were very nice and receptive. Got some interest in the show from it and handed out flyers. It’s also probably a good sign that a bartender who sees lots of talent come through there complimented me. Anyway, I’m having a blast and look forward to the next for weeks.

Sincerely,

Pizza Destroyer

Austin, you were great

Well the weekend in Austin went pretty great. I have to say I love that city. What’s not to love? The music is great, the people are friendly and everything has a unique home grown feel. I’m glad Austin keeps itself weird. As for how the show was received, check out this great review from the Austin Post

I definitely want to come back to this rocking town. Just got to book the space and make it happen! Looking forward to getting home for a few weeks. Been on the road a lot this year. It really makes you appreciate your home. After the rest time… OFF BROADWAY!!

Hey there, Internet! There is now a special offer for a buy one get one free ticket deal in Austin TX at the Blue theater. At the door, just say the password, ‘Tyrone’ and you can get two tickets for the price of one! See you this weekend, Austinites

Howdy, Austin!

Well we’ve pulled into Austin and have hit the ground running. We hit up around 30 coffee and cafe places today putting up flyers and posters for the show. Yesterday we checked in to the theatre and the space is really fun. It’s very reminiscent of the fringe venues that I got to see over the summer and it’s going to work out just great. Driving around today we certainly saw why this is the live music capitol of the world. Tons of live music and really interesting places that are all independently owned. Definitely my kind of town. The Austin City Limits music festival is this weekend too so the city is vibrating in anticipation. I don’t have any pictures to post from my own experiences here so instead I’ll post a pic of the patron saint of Austin, TX.

Canada was great! Now on to Texas… and NYC!

The hold over shows went splendidly. I hadn’t performed for a 300+ crowd since last year and it turned out even better this time around thanks to extended technical options. I’ll hopefully have some pics upload with the new show look soon. I’ll upload a reaction video soon

Now we are in San Antonio and loving life. I’ve got a spot on the local fox affiliate and we got this listing in the paper today

Next week we are in Austin and then Houston at the end of the month. However, the most exciting thing is doing the show OFF BROADWAY!!! That right we are going to be at the View Theatre at Roy Arias Cabaret at the Times Square Theatre Center October 21st through November 13th. Click here for tickets
